About The Author
GAIL EMMA SCOTT
Gail Emma Scott wrote several novels in her twenties but did not submit them for publishing until 2025, when she was 63. Born in Ohio, the author grew up in Austin, Texas during the tumultuous period when the public school system was undergoing racial integration in the early 1970s. Later the family moved to her father’s hometown of Minneapolis, Minnesota. After graduating from The Blake School in Minneapolis, Scott earned a bachelor’s degree from Brown University and a masters’ degree from Columbia University’s School of Journalism. Scott traveled extensively in Europe, living for a period in Budapest, Hungary, in 1983, when it was still a communist country behind the Iron Curtain. After marrying, Scott settled in North Carolina, where she raised three children with her husband. Later she and her family moved to Portland, Oregon, where she currently resides. In Portland, where she worked as a communications director for a large health care company, Scott began a side hobby of remodeling old houses and renting them out. After a period of running her own property management company, Scott returned to her first passion – writing.
